The problem: oily skin due to excess dryness. This was causing my skin to be gross: dry splotches around my nose and dry spots on my cheek, and oily everywhere else with break outs on my forehead and chin.

The solution: I have tried several skin care regiments since moving to Tucson. I want to do a full review on all the Desert Essence products I bought, but I want to start with this since it is honestly the best moisturizer I’ve tried.

Perks of this moisturizer: it’s unscented. I’m prone to headaches, so it’s nice to be able to use a product that I know won’t trigger a headache.

It moisturizes all day long. A lot of other products go on light, but don’t last all day. Living in a climate as dry as the Sonoran desert, I need something that will stay on my skin.

It’s vegan! A completely cruelty-free product. No animal testing, no animal ingredients, nothing. All plants.

If you’re the make up wearing type, no worries! It also wears well under make up.

Downsides: the only thing I can see is that it does feel a little heavy at first. Not oily, just heavy. That feeling fades throughout the day though, and it has helped balance my skin from the oily/dry mess that it was to smooth and consistent.

Overall: 5/5 stars. Now, not every product of theirs I bought gets 5/5, but this is literally the best product I’ve bought since moving to Tucson. And I shop A LOT.

If you’re having issues with your skin, or looking for cruelty-free beauty products, scented-free products, or just looking for something new, I highly recommend this moisturizer!

PS: I got mine at Sprouts. You could also find it at Whole Foods, probably your local co op, and it’s definitely cheapest on amazon.com. When I run out, I’ll purchase it from Amazon.
